Nourishing Your Joints
Osteoarthritis (OA) is a disease involving degeneration of the cartilage that cushions joints accompanied by pain, inflammation and loss of mobility.
It is widely accepted that OA is an inevitability of advancing age and the only treatment is the use of prescription non-steroidal anti-inflammatory
(NSAID) medications for the pain.
These assumptions are incorrect: wear and tear earlier in life contributes to the development of OA and preventative measures taken in these early, or even later stages, can slow the development and progression of OA, reducing the severity of all symptoms.
Glucosamine and chondroitin are building blocks in the joint. Their presence promotes collagen formation, increasing cartilage production, slowing cartilage degeneration and attracting fluid to the joints for cushioning and nourishment.
Their benefits have been proven in numerous studies.
